CAPACITY BUILDING
SSEA partners with development agencies and other stakeholders to enhance capacity for fisherfolk, processors, traders, exporters and service providers throughout the fisheries value chain.
COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT
A complete fishery management system must recognize a wide range of influences that affect the interaction between the fishery, its stakeholders and the aquatic environment. The system adopted for each fishery must be well adapted to the specific conditions found at that location.”

MARKETING
SSEA links the fishing industry and members to national and international markets. This is made possible through creating direct market linkages, supporting members to attend national and international trade fairs and providing timely market information. SSEA, together with its members is continuously promoting Somali seafood products internationally and is lobbying for access to international markets such as the EU
ADVOCACY & LOBBYING
SSEA influences and advocates for a conducive national and international business environment, Policies, tariffs and trade agreements on behalf of its members and the fisheries industry in Somalia. This is done through public and private partnerships at both local and international level
COMPLIANCE & STANDARDS
SSEA with other stakeholders supports members to comply with national and international market requirements. We collaborate with institutions that set the standards and implementers to bring compliance to Somali fisheries industry and producers through participation in interpretation of standards
